How can we better prioritise which chemicals to focus on in Scottish chemical policy?
Background
Question Group: Focused on safeguarding and enhancing Scotland’s natural resources, its air, soils, land, water, plants and wildlife, by addressing the drivers of nature loss and environmental degradation. Emphasises restoration of degraded ecosystems, sustainable use of wild species, minimising of pollution, improving the management of invasive non-native species. Targets sustainable use of resources to support thriving communities, nature, and the economy in a changing climate.
Sub-questions: -How do we compare the risks of chemicals within Scotland to better prioritise issues in Scottish policy development?
-Where are the hotspots of PFAS (PFAS (per-and poly fluoroalkyl substances)) contamination in Scotland?
-Are there other chemicals that represent a specific or disproportionate risk to Scotland?
- How do we build trust and confidence in VCMs? How do we build economic and business resilience from high integrity markets?
